Garlic
Garlic is a well known addition to many meals but it actually has many health benefits and is extensively used in herbal medicine, so what’s all the fuss about? Well, garlic is especially good at managing high cholesterol and it helps to reduce the risk of heart disease. It has also been shown to reduce the risk of cancer, have antibiotic properties (to which the body does not build up resistance), reduce fungal infections and lessen the chances of getting insect bites. Some even use it to treat acne! Fresh garlic provides the best advantages and it’s thought that the stronger the flavour; the better it is for you. Garlic will provide most benefits if eaten raw for example in smoothies but be careful not to use too much as over consumption can cause irritations. Of course you can take garlic supplements to avoid garlic breath; however do not use the odourless tablets as they are not considered to be as advantageous.
